Tonkinkan Ju-Jitsu
The art of using the body — and the street.
Unarmed self-defence first. Traditional weapons still in the mix. Confidence that changes how you walk through the world.
What we practise
Locks, strikes, awareness.
Ju-Jitsu shows you how to use your body to defend yourself against attackers, with minimal effort and maximum effect. Utilising locking techniques and knowing where and how to strike lets the student act — and win — without relying on raw strength.
The art of traditional Japanese weapons is still practised today and remains beneficial to the Ju-Jitsu exponent’s skill base. The emphasis, though, is on situations you might meet in local towns and cities: muggers, robbers, or simply people who consider violence fun.
The self-confidence that comes with being ready, willing and able to protect yourself becomes self-evident to others. An attacker is likely to seek out an easier target.
